Job Description

Context

Grwp LlanNi have received funding for a new Rural Futures project called,

 

“Hwb LlanNi ”

 

The Rural Futures programme, which is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, support communities to use their strengths and opportunities to tackle some of the challenges affecting rural communities in Wales such as affordable housing, fuel and food poverty, lack of employment, as well as access to services and transport.

 

Grwp LlanNi has three goals: Reduce poverty, improve health and wellbeing, and create a thriving community.

 

The idea of the project is to create a modern community facility with resources and activities. The HWB will be for the whole community within Llannerchymedd.

 

Hwb LlanNi Project Coordinator

The Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day running of the project.

 

The Coordinator will be self employed and managed by Grwp LlanNi Management Committee.

 

Role Description: Project Coordinator 2-year Freelance Contract

Salary: £13.00 per hour – 15 hrs per week

Location: Hwb LlanNi.

1. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POST

 

To oversee and coordinate the Hwb LlanNi project

  • Developing and managing a programme of activities and events.

  • Engaging with the local community and local support agencies.

  • Support participants and volunteers

2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the project, including monitoring and evaluation in accordance with Lottery requirements. .

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. Ensure the safe and secure keeping of health and safety records, including emergency contact details for participants.

  • Ensure GDPR compliance.

  • Work with the Management Team steering group to recruit and support volunteers

  • To attend meetings to support community engagement.

  • Support the Management Team in administrating the budget to cover the running costs of the project

  • Create a series of activities and training, ensuring that all events and workshops are accessible to all where possible.

  • Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Flexibility for weekend and evening work with the support of project volunteers.

  • To carry out all other such duties as may from time to time be determined by the Management Team.​

Person Specification

Essential

Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations

Enthusiastic and self motivated individual

Ability to conform to the HWB's Welsh Language Policy, showing empathy toward Welsh culture and the language

Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Experience of engaging and working with the public

Able to liaise with public and partners

Ability to create a program of social and volunteer activities

Good communication skills

Desirable

Qualified / experienced in Project Management

Experience of delivering community events

Awareness of Hwb LlanNi purposes

Health and Safety trained

First aid trained

Ability to speak Welsh or a commitment to learn to a basic level

Experience of working with local communities, volunteers and schools

Experience of administrating externally funded projects

Computer literate and confident in the use of Microsoft Office software

Knowledge of the area and its people
